Bass Lessons With Baba Elefante
Private instruction can save you years of wasted time. Whether it’s learning proper technique or practicing the RIGHT things. Its important and easier to learn good habits in the beginning rather that breaking bad habits and re-learning.
If you’re just starting out and want to start out on the right track or if you’re a player who has been playing for years and stuck in a rut, playing the same licks or not knowing how to construct patterns from one chord to the next, lessons can be a great help.
I strongly believe in finding a good teacher who you can relate to. A good teacher in my opinion is a teacher who teaches music content, NOT your favorite songs or bass licks. I may lose students over that, however I must be honest in my approach.
Music content consists of chord construction, harmony, understanding key centers and chord progressions Etc. and how that relates to your instrument. Basically it’s the construction and theory of how music works. I also believe that having a better understanding of this, gives you a much greater appreciation for what you already love “MUSIC”
How to Book Lessons
1) Private Lessons
- If you’re in Southern California you can email me and we will set up a time that works out.
- I think it works best to do 1 hour every 2 weeks.
- I charge $70 per hour lesson. My policy is to have you pay for 2 lessons at a time. So that would be $140 for two.
- Payment can be made by PayPal, Venmo or Check or upon arrival of your first lesson.
Cancellation Policy: The lesson time that we agree upon is reserved for you upon payment. If for any reason you need to cancel and reschedule a lesson, I would need 24 hr notice. There would be no charge.
2) Online Bass Lessons
Thanks to the technology of today I have had much success with students around the world via Skype, or Zoom. This is a great way to reach people who are in a different regions or even heavy work schedules and don’t have the time to drive out to my place.
How Online Lessons Work
You’ll need a computer with a webcam and high speed internet. (If you’re a wireless user at home you’ll want to connect directly with an Ethernet cable for maximum speed.)
Online video technology is really amazing. The only thing we can’t do is play together at the same time. There’s a latency problem when it comes to playing at the same time. That’s about the only downside.
- How it works is you would email me and we will set up a time that works out.
- Just like my other lessons I think it works best to do 1 hour every 2 weeks.
- The first lesson I like to have at least 1 ½ hour just to make sure we get things working. No extra charge.
